Dedicated Instructor

The Riding School is set on 50 acres on the fleurieu Peninsula at Mosquito Hill overlooking the beautiful coastline of Goolwa and Middleton. I have a team of  4 lovely horses and ponies which will suit all levels of rider from beginner to advanced riders so you can be assured you will be on a horse or pony which is perfectly matched to your riding experience.

My aim is for you to be confident and relaxed with your horse so that your riding lessons will give you the best chance to learn to ride quickly, improve your riding skills and gain confidence on horseback, the team of horses are experienced and well educated as school mounts and are handpicked for their gentle nature and rideability.

If you have never ridden a horse before or if you want to get back on horseback after a break or even if you are an experienced rider wanting to improve your horse riding skills or begin your dressage or jumping training your needs will be catered for.

I have has worked with horses all my life, competing in dressage and jumping from a young age and was a very successful competitor and was selected in and represented State and National Eventing team squads and received instruction from the top instructors around the world

At the tender age of 7 Louise was given the loan of a beautiful pony named Toffee. He  had done dressage and hacking but never jumped, Louise tried jumping him and he loved it the feeling was mutual.... The 'Bug' was born, the freedom and sincronicity of being one with the horse

The thrill of riding Cross Country

The foundation to all jumping is Dressage.

The excitement of jumping Cross Country

Once the jumping bug  was caught by Louise, she was bewitched, she trained horses to international level eventing and even sold a horse to the German Government for their top Event Rider to compete in the Olympic Games.

The foundation to all jumping is Dressage.

Well, its all fun to be jumping these big jumps, but the basis to jumping safely and successfully is being able to control and have a good understanding of work on the flat.

It can look boring to the onlooker but when you and the horse come together and work together as one that is the most amaising feeling you can imagine.

RISK WARNING AND INSTRUCTOR WAIVER

I, (full name) ………………………………………………………………………………………………

of (address) ……………………………………………………………………………………………….
may seek horse riding and handling instruction from Louise Whibley and/or other coaches or instructors employed or invited by Gesarpark Equestrian from time to time, on premises at the Gesarpark Equestrian facility at 97 Trig Point Road Mosquito Hill SA or at other locations.

I understand and acknowledge all these risks:

Riding and being around horses are inherently dangerous activities. I will be voluntarily participating or involved in such activities, with full knowledge of the danger involved.

SERIOUS, PERMANENT BODILY INJURY, DISABILITY OR DEATH OF MYSELF, AND PERSONS ACCOMPANYING ME, MAY RESULT FROM HANDLING, RIDING OR BEING IN THE VICINITY OF HORSES.

Horses are powerful, easily frightened, unpredictable animals. No riding horse is a completely safe horse. Every riding environment contains elements that will frighten horses from time to time. No environment that includes horses is a completely safe environment, even for non-riders.

If a horse is startled, frightened or provoked, it may divert from its training and act according to its natural survival instincts.

All horses, even when they are well trained and in an ideal environment, may buck, rear, stop short, change direction or speed at will, shy, spook, shift their weight, kick, strike, bite, bolt, run backwards or sideways, fail to respond to commands, run into objects, stumble, fall and run from perceived danger – all without warning and without apparent cause or in response to normal parts of the environment, such as wind, sounds, movement of people, cars, bikes, other animals, normal variations on terrain or inanimate objects.

The inherent risks include loss of control of the horse, falling or being thrown off, being stepped on or head butted, collisions with gates, fences, walls, trees, horses or other obstacles, being hung up or entangled in stirrups, reins or other gear, and floating/transporting accidents.

Tack may break and girths become loose.

While I am riding or in the vicinity of a horse I may encounter dangers due to hazards which are an inevitable part of a normal environment, including terrain, creeks, rivers, water, weather, cliffs, obstacles both natural and man-made, traffic, bees and insects, wild and domestic animals. Any of these may cause the horse to be startled, become frightened or provoked, cause it to lose its footing or behave in an unpredictable manner.

I, or any person accompanying me, may suffer allergic reactions to dust, insects, animals or vegetation. Property belonging to me, or others, may be damaged while I am riding or in the vicinity of a horse.
